Waterford Mott HS

Chris Saikalis, one of the area's top throwers, placed first in the shot put and discus throw to help Waterford Mott defeat Waterford Kettering in a dual track and field meet. Saikalis, who will compete at Grand Valley State next season, has the area's second-best throw in the shot put.

Bailey Paradiso

Tennis - Girls
Birmingham Marian HS

Paradiso won the No. 1 singles title at the Catholic League tournament Saturday, helping the Mustangs to their fifth straight league championship. The senior is a four-time league champion herself.

Honor Roll

Alia Rice, Ferndale HS Track And Field: Rice was a double winner at the OAA Gold meet, taking titles in the100- and 300-meter hurdle events.

Ben Hill, Royal Oak HS Track And Field: Only a freshman, Hill won the 1,600 and 3,200 runs, and ran a leg on the winning 3,200 relay to lead the Ravens to the OAA Gold meet title.

Aaron Howell, Farmington HS Track And Field: Howell won the girls long jump, high jump and was second in the 300 hurdles to help the Falcons win the girls OAA White meet.

Jeff Aririguzo, West Bloomfield HS Track And Field: Aririguzo won the 100, 200 and 400 dashes, the latter in a personal best of 49.83 seconds and among the area's top efforts, at the OAA White league meet.

Brandon Wallace, Milford HS Track And Field: Wallace won the 800-meter run and ran a leg on the winning 3,200-meter relay, currently ranked No. 1 in Oakland County, at the KLAA Lakes Conference meet.

Lauren Hughes, Southfield Hs Tennis - Girls: Hughes beat Avondale's Fallon Richie to win the No. 1 singles title at the OAA Blue tennis tournament this past weekend.
